In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, visited the SES Hunter Northern Zone Headquarters in Metford and met with members of the SES, RFS and NSW Police. Afterwards the Governor joined SES Superintendent Joanna Jones in a helicopter flight surveying flood damage in the region.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency, as Patron, visited the Coast Shelter Community Centre, in North Gosford. Coast Shelter provides specialist homelessness services and personal support programs on the Central Coast. For further information visit: coastshelter.org.au

In the evening, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson officially opened The Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture Finalists’ Exhibition, at Juniper Hall, Paddington.
