In the morning, upon returning to the State, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, reassumed administration of the Government.

Following this, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council at Government House.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency read the Proclamation proclaiming Prince Charles to be King Charles the Third, by the Grace of God King of Australia and his other Realms and Territories, at Parliament House.
