In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House.

Following this, the Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson attended the Battle for Australia Commemoration Service, at which her Excellency recited an excerpt from Kokoda Pilgrimage and laid the first wreath, at the Martin Place Cenotaph, Sydney.

Later, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Wilson, attended the official hanging of her portrait by Tsering Hannaford, which was commissioned by the NSW Bar Association in recognition of Her Excellency’s term as President of the NSW Court of Appeal, in the Laws Courts Building, Sydney.
