In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson commenced a regional visit to the Wentworth, Balranald, and Hay Shires, beginning with a visit to Dareton Public School, in Dareton.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson met representatives of the Wentworth and Balranald Shire Councils, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services staff, and Barkandji, Ngiyampaa and Mutthi Mutthi representatives of the Aboriginal Advisory Group, before undertaking a sunset tour of the Mungo Lunettes, in Mungo National Park.
