In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later in the morning, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, officially opened the Jillian Broadbent Social Science & Arts Building, at the University of Wollongong. Following the Opening Ceremony, the Governor and Mr Wilson toured the facility and attended a luncheon with Executive Staff.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson hosted a Farewell Dinner for Professor Greg Craven AO, Vice-Chancellor of the Australian Catholic University, at Government House, Sydney.
