In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, received Professor Jennifer Burn, Interim Anti-Slavery Commissioner for the NSW Government, and Dr David Cooke, Chairman and Managing Director, and Ms Nicole D’Sousa, Ethical Sourcing Manager, of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia, at Government House.

Later in the morning, the Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson attended a Morning Tea in Honour of James Martin, at NSW Parliament House. In the late 1800’s Mr Martin was Premier of NSW on three occasions and went on to serve as the Chief Justice.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency visited the Asylum Seekers Centre, in Newtown.

Later in the afternoon, the Governor received Professor Alison Gerard, Director of the Centre for Law and Justice, Charles Sturt University, at Government House. Afterwards, Her Excellency, as Patron, received Professor Ian Sloan, President, Ms Judith Wheeldon, Vice President, and Mr Donald Hector AM, Council Member, of the Royal Society of New South Wales. In the evening the Governor, as Patron, and Mr Wilson, hosted afternoon tea for NSW General Sir John Monash Scholars and Board Members, at Government House. For further information visit: www.johnmonash.com

Later in the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Reception, at Sydney Town Hall.
