On Saturday, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, hosted events in honour of the King’s Birthday, at Government House.

The morning featured a ceremonial parade consisting of a march-on by Scots College Pipes and Drums; a tri-service Royal Guard comprising Cadets, marched on by the Corrective Services Band and followed by Mounted Police; a Royal Australian Air Force flypast; a Welcome to Country by Uncle Allen Madden; Her Excellency’s address; and, to represent His Majesty’s symbolic presence, the unfurling of The Royal Standard on the Parade Ground.

Following this, and in celebration of His Majesty’s Birthday, the Governor and Mr Wilson hosted a garden reception on the Eastern Terrace.

In the evening, Her Excellency, accompanied by Mr Wilson, as official guests, received 12 debutantes and their partners at the Debutante Ball of the Greek Young Matrons’ Association, at the Hilton Hotel.
