In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, as Honorary Commodore, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, received the farewell salute of HMAS Sirius on its farewell lap of Sydney Harbour.

In the afternoon, the Governor, as Patron of the Australia Day Council of NSW, accompanied by Mr Wilson, hosted an afternoon tea for nominees for the 2022 New South Wales Australian of the Year Awards, after which the Governor and Mr Wilson attended the 2022 Award Ceremony at The Grand Ballroom, Luna Park.
