The Governor likes to know if Grace is to be said before a meal so that he knows when he should sit down. If there is to be a Loyal Toast, it is correct to give it just before the dessert or other last course of a meal, or just before the coffee is served.  If the host feels there is some reason why the Toast should be given earlier, please discuss it with us beforehand. The Toast is very brief:

“Ladies and Gentlemen, please stand for the Loyal Toast”; pause;

“The Queen”. (Never, "Please be upstanding” ... “charge your glasses”).
