Government House Sydney
Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales
As the rain eases and blue skies return, we remain mindful of thousands of people and businesses in our State still displaced after the torrential rain of the last week. Across New South Wales the impact on households and livelihoods has been devastating.
However, we have yet again seen the character of our community on display as people made extraordinary efforts to look out for each other’s safety and welfare.
To those in the SES, other emergency services and Local Councils who have responded - thank you. The work you do is nothing short of stupendous.
I am confident that we will continue to see this same character of community as efforts turn to clean up and the restoration of homes, properties and businesses.
