Message from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Regarding the Drought
Having been in New South Wales briefly in April, near Wagga Wagga, my wife and I have been utterly dismayed to hear of the horrific drought devastating your State. I can well imagine the appalling difficulties being faced by so many farming families, and so I particularly wanted to say how deeply we feel for all those struggling against such soul-destroying conditions.
I know how extraordinarily resilient the Aussie character is. It is something I have always admired greatly and it has therefore been wonderful to hear how charity and community groups have set up schemes such as "Buy a Bale" and "Parma for a Farmer" in order to help relieve some of the dreadful pressure on farmers.
Our heartfelt sympathy is with all rural communities at this most challenging of times.
