The Governor and Mr Wilson farewelled His Royal Highness The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex KG GCVO, on the 16th of September, after hosting The Prince for his stay in Sydney.

Prince Edward is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, and was an esteemed guest at a Reception to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards, held at Government House, on Saturday.

Since 1959, 775,000 young Australians have completed the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, and currently, over 45,000 young Australians are assisted by 60,000 volunteers to undertake their Award challenge every year.
