In May 2023, the Governor undertook a Vice-Regal mission to Vietnam to strengthen NSW's diplomatic, trade and people-to-people links. 

Her Excellency spoke to members of the Australia-Vietnam Leadership Dialogue, visited the Western Sydney University Vietnam campus, met with members of the Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam and representatives of key NSW and Vietnamese businesses, called on the Ho Chi Minh Party Secretary and other officials, engaged with NSW-Vietnam Alumni, and visited the Hung Vuong Hospital to see project involving NSW expertise to improve the accuracy of diagnosis in breast cancer screening.

NSW and Ho Chi Minh City have a sister- state/ province relationship.
