Installation Ceremony for the Chancellor of the University of Wollongong

On Monday, 19 August 2024, the Governor, as Visitor of the University, took part in the Installation Ceremony for the 5th Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Mr Michael Still.
In her address following the Chancellor's Pledge and signing of the Warrant, the Governor commended the University of Wollongong's proud legacy of reflecting the changing needs of the communities it serves in and for, its reputation for commitment to innovation and excellence, and its dedication to providing and supporting inclusive and accessible educational pathways.
Beginning in the 1950s as a technical college training metallurgists and engineers for the local steel-making industry, the University of Wollongong has grown to become a world-class network of university campuses and research partnerships in diverse disciplines spread not only throughout NSW, but also internationally.
