In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House.

Later in the morning, the Governor received Mr Francisco Tello, Consul-General of Chile, for an incoming courtesy call at Government House. Afterwards, Her Excellency received Mr Olli Mustonen, Honorary Consul of Finland.

In the afternoon, the Governor received Rebecca Main, Australian Electoral Officer for NSW, for the return of the completed Writ for the Election of Senators for New South Wales, following the Federal Election.

Later, Her Excellency hosted the fifth of seven visits by groups of student leaders from across NSW participating in the Secondary School Leadership Program, at Government House.

In the evening, the Governor attended the 72^nd Sydney Film Festival Opening Night Gala, at The State Theatre, Sydney.
