In the morning, and then in the afternoon, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, conducted investiture ceremonies during which New South Wales residents recognised in the Australian Honours and Awards System were invested with their insignia, medals, and other decorations, at Government House. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended a reception on board USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), hosted by the United States Navy Seventh Fleet and the United States Mission in Australia, at HMAS Kuttabul, Potts Point.
