In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House.

Following this, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, presided at a ceremony acknowledging the appointment of Malcolm Lanyon APM as the 24th Commissioner of the New South Wales Police Force, at Balmain Police Station, Balmain. 

Afterwards, and throughout the day, Her Excellency, in conjunction with the New South Wales Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee, interviewed candidates for the 2026 Rhodes Scholarship for New South Wales, at Government House.
