In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson departed for an overseas mission to Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Wilson met with His Excellency Mr Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, and Dr Timothy Kendall, Australian Consul-General to Guangzhou, for an in-market briefing by Dr Kendall, in Guangzhou.

As a consequence of the Governor’s departure from the State, His Excellency the Honourable Andrew Bell, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, assumed the Administration of the Government of New South Wales.
