In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson met with Hong Kong St John Ambulance Brigade at their Hong Kong Island Command Headquarters, Causeway Bay, where they remembered two St John members who perished in the Wang Fuk Court fire disaster, attended a parade, observed a first aid demonstration, and engaged with cadets.

Later in the morning, the Governor, Mr Wilson and Mr Gareth Williams, Australian Consul General to Hong Kong, laid wreaths at the Stone of Remembrance, at the Sai Wan War Cemetery, accompanied by the Country Manager (Hong Kong) of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
