In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, as Patron of the Australia Day Council of NSW, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, commenced Australia Day with an address at the WugulOra Morning Ceremony, at Barangaroo. Afterwards, the Governor, as Patron of Wheelchair Sports NSW and joint Patron of Royal Rehab, accompanied by Mr Wilson, fired the starting pistol for the Royal Rehab Oz Day 10K Race, at The Rocks. For further information, visit: wsnsw.org.au and royalrehab-ryde.com.au
Subsequently, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson hosted the commencement of AustraliaDay@theHouse events at Government House, featuring live music by the Fire and Rescue NSW Band and the Corrective Services NSW Band.
Later, the Governor, as Presiding Officer, accompanied by Mr Wilson, officiated at a 2026 Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony, conferring citizenship on 350 new Australian citizens, at the Sydney Opera House.
Afterwards, Her Excellency, accompanied by Mr Wilson, received the Salute to Australia on behalf of the State, and commenced the Ferrython, on board the Admiral’s Barge, at Sydney Cove.

Later, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson, as official guests, visited the Yabun Festival, and presented two Acknowledgement Awards, at Victoria Park, Camperdown.
