In the morning, as a consequence of Her Excellency the Governor-General being overseas, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Concurrently, the Honourable Andrew Bell, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Government of the State of New South Wales.

In the evening, Her Excellency, accompanied by Mr Wilson, officially opened Parramatta’s Lit! Festival, at Parramatta Town Hall.
