In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson, participated in a Tara Caves Cultural Walking Tour, and met with staff and volunteers from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, before visiting the Warrumbungle National Park Environmental Education Centre, to observe a Year 7 science lesson with Coonabarabran High School students.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Wilson hosted a Vice-Regal Community Luncheon, at the Coonabarabran CWA Tea Rooms.

Later in the afternoon, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson visited Australian Premier Genetics, before meeting with members of the Castlereagh Rural Fire Service, at the Control Centre in Coonabarabran.

In the evening, the Vice-Regal couple visited the Siding Springs Observatory, and met with the Vice-Chancellor and staff of the Australian National University who have oversight of the facility.
