During the day, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, as Visitor of the University, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, presided at the Installation Ceremony for the 10^th Chancellor of the University of New England, Dr Sarah Pearson, at the University of New England Armidale Campus.

Following this, the Governor and Mr Wilson visited BackTrack Youth Works Headquarters, in Armidale.

In the afternoon, representing Her Excellency, the Honourable Justice Julie Ward, President of the New South Wales Court of Appeal, welcomed the fourth of seven visits by groups of student leaders from across NSW participating in the Secondary School Leadership Program, at Government House.
