In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, laid the first floral tribute at The Battle of Britain Commemoration Service, hosted by Air Force Association (NSW), at The Cenotaph, Martin Place.

In the afternoon, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Wilson, delivered the Spann Oration, hosted by the Institute of Public Administration Australia NSW, at Parliament House, Sydney.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended A Symphony of Stars: Hall of Fame Dinner, at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush. The event marked the 25^th anniversary of the Sydney Olympic Games and the opening of the Accor Stadium.
