In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, received Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro, GNZM QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand, accompanied by His Excellency Dr Richard Davies, at Government House.

Following this, the Governor, as Patron of the Returned and Services League of Australia (NSW Branch), accompanied by Mr Wilson, laid the first wreath at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Veterans Commemoration Service, in the Anzac Memorial Northern Forecourt, Hyde Park. In the afternoon, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended celebrations for Festa della Repubblica (Italian National Day), hosted by Dr Gianluca Rubagotti, Consul-General of Italy, at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Point Piper.
