The Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson spent four days in the Central West and Orana regions, travelling through Orange, Mudgee, Gulgong, Mullamuddy, Dunedoo, Gilgandra and Dubbo.

The visit included a wide range of engagements, where the Governor and Mr Wilson learnt more about the region's outstanding produce, agriculture, education initiatives, business opportunities, and local Indigenous history. 

Engagements included meeting the wonderful people from Fam Connect, the Orange Parkinson’s Support Group, and Mudgee's Empower Café. The region’s local produce was also in the spotlight, with time spent with Mudgee Wine, a visit to Aboriginal-owned and operated native foods business Indigiearth, and a trip to Aril Estate to see award-winning olive and pomegranate production up close. 

The Governor and Mr Wilson heard from Mid-Western Regional Council representatives about local initiatives, as well as receiving a warm welcome from local Muslim leaders at the NSW Central West Muslims Association in Dubbo. 

They also met local Indigenous Elders at the Coo-ee Heritage Centre, toured GRASS Merinos, officially opened a new boarding house at Kinross Wolaroi School, and attended a training session with the NSW Rural Fire Service.
