On the occasion of the British & Irish Lions Mens Rugby Tour of Australia 2025, the Governor welcomed guests to Government House to celebrate Rugby and the extraordinary tradition of Lions tours of Australia, which extends back to the tour organised by Alfred Shaw and Arthur Shrewsbury in 1888.

During the evening, the Lions' official artist Ben Mosley painted a gilt and acrylic work that was then gifted to Government House.
