In the morning, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council at Government House.

Afterwards, the Governor received Mr Robert Whittaker, outgoing President, Mr David Alessi, immediate Past President and Mr Douglas Coombes, incoming President of the New South Wales Chapter of the Australian Institute of Building.

Later, His Excellency received Ms Valerie Fowler, Consul-General of the United States of America in New South Wales.

Afterwards, the Governor, as Patron, attended the Sydney Community Foundation’s Sydney Women’s Fund Annual Saluting Sydney Women Luncheon at the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Rocks.

In the afternoon, His Excellency, as Patron, accompanied by Mrs Linda Hurley, hosted an afternoon tea reception for Life Education NSW to celebrate 30 years of the Colyton Centre as the Head Office of Life Education NSW.

In the evening, as guests of Opera Australia, the Governor and Mrs Hurley attended the opening night performance of ‘Parsifal’ at the Sydney Opera House.

In the day, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, attended the Cornucopia Committee’s Annual Fashion Parade Charity Luncheon at the Royal Oak Hotel, Balmain.
