In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson, as joint Patrons of Surf Life Saving NSW, attended the Shoulder to Shoulder gathering on Bondi Beach. 

More than 1,000 lifesavers from Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club, North Bondi SLSC and Bondi lifeguards formed a long line on the water’s edge, covering the length of the beach to pause for reflection, remember victims and their families, and show their unity and solidarity. In the evening, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended the Bondi Beach Hanukkah Service, conducted by The Central Synagogue, at the Bondi Pavilion.
