In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson, were welcomed to Wiradjuri Country by Aunty Ruth Davys and taken on a guided tour of the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk, in West Albury.
Following this, in Howlong, the Governor and Mr Wilson were escorted on the Howlong History Trail, including visits to Howlong Public School, the Mill Hotel, Peppercorn Cottage, Old Bank Building, and the Mechanics Institute, as well as meeting members of the Howlong Historical Society.
In the afternoon, the Vice Regal Couple met members of the Howlong Community Emergency Response Team, at the Howlong Community Resource Centre.
In the evening, the Governor and Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, accompanied by Mr Wilson and Professor Glyn Davis AC, co-hosted a Vice Regal reception marking the conclusion of the 50th anniversary year of the Australian Honours and Awards system, as well as the 20th anniversary of the official proclamation of the Black-Allan Line, at the Corowa Distillery, Corowa.
