In the afternoon, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, hosted a Ceremonial Tree Planting and Garden Reception, in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, at Government House.

The planting of a Red Oak (Quercus rubra), a symbol of strength, wisdom and endurance, celebrates Her Majesty’s 70 years of service to the Commonwealth, since her accession to the throne on 6 February 1952.
